1921 is a symbol of strength and prosperity in the African diaspora because it represents a rare moment in history when a large African American community, the Greenwood District in Tulsa, Oklahoma, known as "Black Wall Street," was able to achieve significant economic success and prosperity despite widespread racism and discrimination. This community was home to a large number of successful black-owned businesses, including grocery stores, clothing shops, theaters, and beauty salons, as well as a hospital and a school. It was one of the most prosperous African American communities in the country at the time, and was known for its high standard of living and vibrant social scene.The year 1921 is significant because it represents a time when African Americans were able to achieve prosperity and success against the odds, demonstrating their resilience and determination in the face of adversity.
